We received a total of 268 voted ballots. To meet the required 60% threshold, 161 votes are required for adoption. 43 resolutions met the threshold; some were combined by the committee so that all could be forwarded to the state DFL Convention.

Require all employers (excluding self ownership & small businesses of 5 or less) to develop a plan to encourage more implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act for equal consideration for all persons for good paying jobs. As a result, all citizens of the regional area are able to contribute to society as a whole.

Resolution: Require on the basis of the Americans with Disabilities Act to mandate every employer in Minnesota with the exception of small business owners having at least 2-4 employees, to reach out and find good paying jobs for those with disabilities, and ending the practice of steering disabled adults into segregated jobs that offer low pay and no incentives to dig themselves out of poverty and out of the social safety net.
